The end has come...

Finally after a month of waiting, xogus has returned to home land.
I was actually getting used to him being away when he returned. *sigh*
It feels good to have him back though.
Sadly for him, he did not seem to have had an awesome, so drunk, partying experience in Korea.
But at least he had good food..lucky bastard...

You are a mango...

I am finally done my fourth year!!!! Woahhhh~~~~~~ Time honestly went by soo quickly! It is actually so ridiculous... I still feel like I am in second year and yet I am about to graduate university.
Unfortunately for me, I have to do another year since I need a 1.0 credit to get my degree. Plus I don't even know what to do with my life. I don't feel ready to make a decision about what I want to do for the rest of my life. Ah too much pressure!

After exams, I packed up everything and moved out of residence. Then a few days later I packed to go to Cuba. It was my first time ever going to Cuba. I honestly did not expect anything out of it. However, I had a pretty good time. The weather was very nice and the beach was beautiful. I got a pretty nice tan except now I am starting to peel. No matter how much moisturizer I put onto my skin, I can't seem to stop my skin from peeling. My hope now is that it will just finish peeling soon so I don't have to look like an alien any longer.

Start of this trip was pretty bad. I had to go to the airport early in the morning which meant that I had to wake up even earlier. I seriously contemplated my life when I woke up that morning. The plane ride was relatively alright (food sucked though). When we finally arrived in Cuba, holy crap the weather was so hot. The Santa Clara airport was nothing like I have experienced before. The airport could only probably fit two planes max. When you get off the plane, you literally just walk down few steps to outside. The airport was just one floor building with everything at a minimum. Toilet papers in the washrooms were handed out by the workers. Luggage was just literally set out on the ground. No air conditioning. No restaurants or coffee shops.

After checking through security and finding our luggage, we went out and found our bus that would take us to our resort. The bus ride was 1.5-2 hours long. During that ride, we drove through 3 different towns. The roads were so narrow! But they were thankfully cemented so it was a smooth ride. I saw so many farm lands. Some farm lands grew sugar canes, mangoes, and bananas. We also passed by the second largest land growing the Cuban national tree. It looked very similar to a palm tree. Cubans use all parts of this tree: the leaves are used to make roof, the bark is used for building the house and the fibers inside the bark is used to make brooms. Other farmlands without any plantation had horses, cattle, goats and rooster/chickens. There was actually a large amount of people with cattle and horses. I wonder what they use the cows for. Do they sell it? Or do they just use them for milk? Or do they just eat it?

The structure of the three towns that we passed were I think ((not 100% sure) were influenced by Spanish towns. There is always a cemetery at the entrance of the town. Some houses had bars around the windows and doors as a protection from the slaves (in the past). I saw a bank, hospital, and the largest church in the area as well as another church with its inside made out of gold.

There are tree groups of vehicles in Cuba: American cars before 1959(?), Russian cars (which our tourist said was considered shit), and modern cars. However, bicycle taxis are pretty popular or so I was told. I did see people riding horses though as well as just bicycles.

I also saw apartments that were built by the hotel owners for the workers. Apparently the people have to live there for 20 years until it is considered theirs. Until then, they have to pay rent. Honestly, just looking at the outside condition of the apartment, I don't think I could ever live there.

Then finally, we arrived at the bridge connected the mainland to the keys (small islands) where the resorts are.

GOTTA WAIT FOR THE REST OF THE STORY...I GOTTA PACK AGAIN. FML

Sellout

Officially joined the hype... I am now an iphone owner...
So far... no real enjoyment experienced. Pretty sure I wrestled with the goddamn thing for an hour to be able to download apps...
I also decided to go to the movies right after I got the phone but had no idea how to turn it to vibrate or even turn the phone off. Had to send emergency text to all iphone users I knew to find out... Pretty sure they were LOLing pretty sure at my derp moment.

Oh hello freedom~~~

I have finished my exams. To be exact, I have finished all my exams Wednesday December 15, 2001 @ 10:00PM. This is the earliest day I have ever finished. Thank god it is all done. There are so many people still writing their exams..Poor babies!

As soon as my first semester exams are done, I usually find myself scrambling to get Christmas gifts before I go home. Last minute Christmas shopping really sucks. I went for my first round of shopping today and the mall was so crowded. I would love getting gifts to all those I care about only if I was not bombarded with hundreds of people. It had been awhile since I shopped. I think it has been over 2 months? Ugh I was so drained out of energy afterwards. I fell right asleep after dinner. Probably the best 1-2hrs of nap I had in awhile...

I can't wait to go back into that jungle tomorrow for my second round...(please note the sarcasm here). I really really hope that I won't need to go back after tomorrow.

Procrastination

So I should be studying for my exam this Friday but instead....
I started to think about weddings...specifically, my future weddings.
Most girls I know have a pretty decent outline of what they want. They have the flowers, colour scheme, dress style, hair style, first dance song, etc etc etc all planned out. Am I abnormal or something? I have never really given deep thought about all this. Of course I want to get married in the future...(took a brief moment to think about what I wanted to say next, but there was silence....which was odd because I knew I started making tea for myself...Turned around, and yup totally forgot to turn on the kettle...anyways...).
This is my life outline: get married around 27-28, get a pug right afterwards then have children before 30. But it just occurred to me that I never actually thought about my wedding day. How odd....
One side of me feels that weddings are so overrated. I mean why do you need to spend all that money for... But another side of me feels that I do want a wedding...I want to wear a wedding dress...I want to have my first dance as husband and wife...I want a wedding cake...
Perhaps a small size wedding will be my solution.....

What am I even talking about ... That was so random... anyways prob should get back to studying....

Its the most ____ time of the year~~~~~~~~~

I have no motivation left.
I think this is the usual pattern every year.
By the end of a semester, I have no motivation left to study.
I don't want to study.
During first semester, I want to go celebrate Christmas. During second semester, I want to go out and enjoy the warm weather.
I just want freedom.

I hear that everything only gets better after you hit rock bottom. I think this is what I am going through. I gotta get through this exam week of hell before I can run out that door and get in the Christmas spirit.

Must focus my attention back on folliculogenesis then on my dear old pal Homer&Hesiod then finally to hypothesis tests.

I will end this post with this one word: DERP

Awkward moment

@ a delicious frozen yogurt place:

Worker: Hello.

Me: Hi.. (place my bowl of frozen yogurt to be weighed)>

Worker: Your total comes to $3.71.

Me: (looking for my wallet in my purse)/

Worker: Do you have our points card?

Me: No I don't...

Worker: Do you need our points card?

Me: ...........................No thanks......................... (pay for my food, and get the fuck out of there).

What..do I look fat or something??? Pretty sure I have not been there since...like a year ago!

OH! which reminds me. The manager of this place also is convinced that I am like a VIP customer there.
Every time he sees me, he says, "Oh I remember you. You were here with your friend(s) last time."
....No I was not..... I have no idea who he mistakens me for every time, but I just smile and nod.
It should be noted that:
a) Yes I am Asian.
b) HOWEVER, he (the manager) is Asian as well.
