Farm Girl

The picture above is from two weeks ago when a group of us were tilling. Look at those boots! So freaken muddy. And yes, those blue gloves are nitrile lab gloves that I had to use as garden/work gloves to weed out the weed... That is what you call resourceful!
Tilling = hard work... Although I never took part in the running the tiller, all that weeding, raking and shoveling hurt my back so much. Thankfully, that was the only day of that week where it did not rain. Doing all that in the rain would have not been fun at all.

This is a crappy picture, I admit. I forgot to take it when I was actually near it (probably since I couldn't wait to get out of there). That is the picture of one of the 6 plots (7 by 8m). Those silver looking things would be the deer fences so that no deer eats any of my babies (babies as in brassica). Basically there are 6 bamboo sticks with twine all around them and then pie plates hanging off of the twine so that they can make banging noises to scare off the deer. Lastly, that blueish looking thing next to our plot would be the watering cans. Since its so muddy out there, no vehicles could get through to drop off the large troughs filled with water. So now I have to manually bring those watering cans every time I want to water... Water in large amounts = my back breaking.

To all you people who went to Highpark to see the cherry blossoms, well get ready to eat your heart out. cause I have this right next to my plot!:

That's right! It's cherry blossoms! One day they just appeared...so pretty though. No need to go to Highpark when I have this in my backyard :P

So last week we planted the seeds finally. I had sunburns, bug bites and mud everywhere. A week later, sunburn has turned into a tan, mud has been washed off BUT freaking bug bites are still torturing me! They are so so so so so so soooooo ITCHY. I want to swim in a pool medicated anti-itch cream. They are all over my body! And they are sooo big, red and bulging out (ew). They honestly take turns itching...in the morning it starts from my arms, then to my stomach then to my legs and then at night back to my arms. Someone save me please!
I am slowly turning into a hippy, farm girl. I have the farmer's tan, bug bites, and always filled with mud...
Someone needs to build me a pool that has mixture of sunscreen and bugsspray so every morning I can take a bath in it and then walk out of my house. If anyone is willing to build this please contact me through e-mail ASAP!
<3 Peace out

I bet you're jealous

Xogus brought me flowers just randomly when he came up to see me.
I bet all of you are jealous >: )
Sooooo pretty, except there was no vase in the house so I had to use a beer pitcher.
It's been a week and they are still alive today!!

In the middle of nowhere

Helllllllloooo Summer....
After being home for a little over a week, I have unfortunately moved out into the wilderness...
That lovely image above would be the view from the dinning room in the old house that I am staying at.
Such a lovely view.... Except that this was the only thing that entertained me since I had no internet till last night.
Yes I have survived 4 days without any internet, and TV.
Now that I am finally back in touch with the rest of the world, my goal is to be able to sleep comfortably in the top bunk that I have somehow got stuck with.
I couldnt sleep for the first few nights due to that stupid bunk bed making noises every single second I moved. Also, since I was on the top bunk, I couldn't even get out (cause of the fear that I would wake up my roommate), or read since I had no light.
I honestly do not even know why I signed up for this, since:
1) I am so not the outdoor, nature loving kind of person
2) I hate living in middle of nowhere, and have to rely on others to drive me to just to get groceries
3) There is absolutely nothing to do here, and I get bored easily
4) I always get home sick
5) I cannot cook, and there are no delivery, take-out or any restaurants here.
6 ) I get sun burned easily (Yup, I have the worst sunburn on the back of my neck after being outside for not even 3 hours...and it wasn't even that sunny).
7) I suck at manual labour...
8) I love sleeping in
9) I love sleeping in
10) I love sleeping in

We shall see how the rest of the 4 months go. I am sure it will get better? more enjoyable?
I just really want to go home right now...!

Getting ready

I am a terrible blogger.... However, my excuse is that these past few days have been far from exciting.
All that happened was just hang outs with friends, eating, sleeping, watching shows on the computer and shopping.
Yup, that's my excuse.
I cannot believe that I have to leave home very soon... I don't wanna go!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been slowly getting ready to go...Today I bought sunscreen, bug spray and hat....and a jacket from Roots :P. OMG its sooo cute! Check it out: http://canada.roots.com/FieldJacket/WomensJacketsOuterwear//02010312,default,pd.html?cgid=womensSweatersAndCardigans&selectedColor=2300
Looove it.

I am really kind of dreading to leave home... I love home+family+friends.
I hate living alone...especially this time since I won't even have internet apparently and it is in the middle of no where...
I have no plans on how I am going to survive. I can't just go out and buy some food or grab some groceries whenever I feel like anymore.
The more and more I get ready to leave, the more and more I feel depressed.
I am so pessimistic!
Perhaps I will feel different when I get there ....I hope.
